Kolle Kahle Riggs' unique pieces result from a combination of her formal arts education (MFA from Kansas State Univ.) and her formal outdoor survival skills education taught by her father, "naturalist, artist, writer, herpetologist, anthropologist, experimental archaeologist, excellent housekeeper, curmudgeon, tragically tone deaf music appreciator, great hugger, and teacher" Jim Riggs.
- "Berry Basket 1" (8" x 11") Cottonwood bark berry-picking basket features a handle made of dogbane cordage and is stitched with the same. The rim is made from another strip of cottonwood bark. The bottom seam is strengthened with wood glue so it is very durable. $240
- "Morchella conica" (3" x 3" x 3") Clay sculpture on a wooden base, paper label, brass nails. Hand-painted. $65
- "Berry Basket 2" (9" x 12") Cottonwood bark berry-picking basket has a buckskin handle and willow trim around the opening. It is stitched with dogbane cordage. The bottom seam is strengthened with wood glue making it very durable. $270
- "Rock Product" (7" x 2.5") Small sculpture made from a package originally containing earbud replacement covers. The round compartments that once held the earbud covers now contain some of the artist's favorite tiny rocks embedded in resin. The resin provides a slight magnification that really shows off the patterns and colors of the tiny rocks. Materials: disposable consumer packaging, nickel silver, resin, pretty rocks $215
