Kolle Kahle Riggs' unique pieces result from a combination of her formal arts education (MFA from Kansas State Univ.) and her formal outdoor survival skills education taught by her father, "naturalist, artist, writer, herpetologist, anthropologist, experimental archaeologist, excellent housekeeper, curmudgeon, tragically tone deaf music appreciator, great hugger, and teacher" Jim Riggs.
- Snowberry bead necklace on presentation board (8" x 11") Kolle makes this gorgeous necklace by hand. And I don’t mean just that she hand-carved snowberry-twig beads, which she did, one by one. I mean she hammered out the silver clasp as well! And then mounts it on a hand-drawn explanation of how she makes her beads. $80
- "Broken Heartwood" (21.5" around the neck from clasp to end of chain) One-of-a-kind necklace made from sterling silver and the heartwood of lodgepole pine. Each segment was broken by hand and then reassembled so the pieces remain with their original slice of branch. While wearing, it hangs about 5" below the central motif. This is a statement necklace and is meant to fill up much of the upper chest area. If you can't fix your broken heart you can at least wear it with style! Please allow two weeks for shipment. $530
- Willow twig earrings (7" x 2.5") Carved bits of willow mounted on sterling silver ear wires. $40
